Wayne Deaton of Metal Creation has been welding since the young age of eight after being taught by his father. He chooses to use materials that would have gone to the landfill because he still sees life and beauty in all types of material.

Wayne enjoys seeing what he can create using his welding skills and recycled material. When he sees an old empty propane bottle, it becomes a piggy bank; old horseshoes become a flower, a cross or a crab; a helium tank becomes a gnome; a bolt becomes a fisherman or flying a kite; and a rusted shovel becomes a bird. Wayne is one of the original artists when the festival started in 2005. He enjoys showing people that you don't have to throw away things. He says, “It's never ending what could be used for recycled art or to be recycled for other projects.”
